London based artist, studied at UCCA - University Colledge for Creative Arts, UAL - Wimbledont College of Art, ESAM - École supérieure d'arts et médias de Caen.
My practice centers on the concept of autobiographical art. I am fascinated by our need to document our lives, the human want and need to immortalities ourselves or ‘leave a legacy’ and the effect of this. In line with these thoughts my work focuses on specific crucial events and time periods within my own life in a attempt to share these with viewers via the use of imagery.
The Alternative Norm is a collection of 10 paintings hung in a way that draws you in to an immersive and very intimate experience. In order to see all 10 pieces of work the viewer needs to embark on a journey through the instalation. This body of work showcases a different side of life that not many see.
These 10 paintings, all of which contain military subject matter, depict the environments many soldiers find themselves placed in as well as the coping mechanisms developed to maintain some sense of normality. This body of work aims to highlight the ordinary occurrences and habitual activities which have to continue in extraordinary situations.
